Dr. Weihua Wang Discusses the POWER IVF Fertility Bank

Dr. Wang Weihua is the Director of the Embryology Center at one of the top five reproductive groups in the United States and a leading expert in reproductive medicine with over 25 years of IVF experience. He has played a key role in the establishment of two of the top egg banks in the U.S. and will lead POWER IVF in completing U.S. FDA certification as well as the development of sperm and egg tissue banks.

Dr. Wang previously supervised embryology laboratory operations across dozens of reproductive centers within Aspire Reproductive Group and contributed to the establishment of the largest frozen donor egg bank in the United States. During his tenure as Laboratory Director at Aspire–Houston Fertility Group (Prelude Fertility / Inception), he helped transform a small clinic into one of the top five reproductive groups nationwide.

In academia, Dr. Wang has served as an Adjunct Professor at institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou University, and Guangzhou Medical University, where he actively participated in teaching and research supervision. His work is internationally recognized. In 1999, he received the ASRM General Program Award for his research on “Imaging of Meiotic Spindles in Living Human Oocytes.”

As a researcher, Dr. Wang has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, with more than 7,000 citations, and serves as a reviewer for approximately 20 international scientific journals. He has led teams of up to 20 embryologists, and under his leadership, Aspire-managed clinics completed 7,000 IVF cycles in 2024. His contributions have positioned the laboratory among the top 3–5 large-scale IVF laboratories in the United States, establishing him as one of the industry’s most respected laboratory directors.
