Successful Conclusion of POWER FERTILITY CENTER (POWER IVF) Closed-Door Seminar on Assisted Reproductive Technology, Focusing on Ultrafast Oocyte Cryopreservation and Cell Gene Technology

Updated: May 7

On March 27, 2025, POWER FERTILITY CENTER (POWER IVF), a fully licensed reproductive medical institution in Mexico, successfully held a closed-door academic seminar on reproductive medicine at its loft clinic in Mexico City. The event attracted approximately 30 senior clinical experts in reproductive medicine, laboratory directors, and representatives from industry leaders such as Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), IMM, and Mindray Medical, who gathered to discuss the latest advancements in assisted reproductive technology.

In-depth Analysis of Cutting-Edge Assisted Reproductive Technologies

The assisted reproductive technology seminar specially invited two internationally renowned experts to deliver keynote reports: Dr. Tao Tao, the current Scientific Director of IVF Canada Laboratory, an American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) certified Embryologist, Andrologist, and High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD), who also holds the position of Laboratory Director of Assisted Reproductive Technology at the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS); and Dr. Francisco Rocha Cárdenas, a Doctor of Biomedical Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Laboratory Director of BioGenRep, and Reproductive Genomics Coordinator at the Akrivia Genomic Medicine Center.

Dr. Tao Tao delivered the first lecture, a 50-minute special report on "Oocyte Freezing, Ultrafast Cryopreservation, and Storage Techniques." As an expert with extensive research experience in multi-species embryo technology, Dr. Tao systematically elaborated on the latest research progress in oocyte cryopreservation techniques and objectively analyzed the advantages and challenges of ultrafast cryopreservation technology in clinical applications.

Subsequently, Dr. Francisco Rocha delivered a 30-minute presentation on the topic of "The Importance of Cell Genomics Tools in Assisted Reproduction." In his report, Dr. Rocha emphasized the crucial role of genetic analysis techniques such as Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) in improving the success rate of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and shared the latest international research cases.

The cutting-edge insights shared by the two experts profoundly revealed the transformative development of assisted reproductive technology, moving from "solving infertility" towards "optimizing fertility." The ultrafast cryopreservation technology presented by Dr. Tao, by shortening the vitrification time of oocytes, improves the survival rate of eggs, providing more possibilities for women's reproductive autonomy. His team's interdisciplinary experience accumulated in multi-species embryo research offers new solutions for human oocyte cryopreservation technology.

The advancements in cell genomics brought by Dr. Rocha signify that assisted reproduction has entered a "precision era." PGT technology has been upgraded from traditional chromosome screening (PGT-A) to detecting more single-gene diseases (PGT-M) and can even perform whole-genome scoring of embryos.

These "black technologies" in assisted reproduction are reshaping the fundamental logic of human reproduction: in terms of time, oocyte freezing technology makes the choice of reproductive age no longer entirely limited by the biological clock; in terms of quality, genomic screening transforms eugenics from a probabilistic event to a more controllable process.

Multidimensional Interaction Between Industry, Academia, and Research to Jointly Promote the Development of the Assisted Reproductive Industry

After the academic presentations, the attendees moved to the cocktail reception area for networking. In a relaxed atmosphere, clinical experts and laboratory directors from various reproductive centers engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as technology translation and standardized operations, fostering several professional dialogues and potential collaborations on-site.

The assisted reproductive technology seminar also included a guided tour of POWER IVF's state-of-the-art facilities. Guests toured the consultation rooms, modern laboratories, and operating rooms of POWER FERTILITY CENTER (POWER IVF). During this time, representatives from world-renowned pharmaceutical and medical technology companies such as Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD), IMM, and Mindray Medical showcased and demonstrated their latest products and engaged in Q&A sessions with the attendees on technical details.

The successful hosting of this seminar marks the first significant milestone for POWER FERTILITY CENTER (POWER IVF) in its journey to promote the development of reproductive medicine. The event not only provided a high-quality platform for the exchange and sharing of professional knowledge but also greatly strengthened the collaborative network among clinical experts, researchers, and industry leaders.

A representative from POWER IVF stated, "This seminar, by building a professional exchange platform, successfully promoted in-depth collaboration among clinical experts, researchers, and the industry."
